Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee

To make a difference in the lives of our military personnel and
their families, the City of Irvine adopted a Marine battalion
from Camp Pendleton.
The City Council approved the proposal
to adopt 2/11 in April 2007 and the official adoption
took place on September 15, 2007.

Mission Statement
The specific purpose of the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee is to provide charitable and educational activities and support for the benefit and welfare of the United States Marines and their families assigned to Camp Pendleton, California, with special emphasis on the Marines and families of the 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines ('2/11 Marines').
Additionally, the Committee seeks to educate and inform the community regarding the 2/11's activities and responsibilities. The Committee accomplishes its goal by soliciting private and public donations of cash, food, beverages, and new and used material goods to help underwrite the cost of sponsoring 2/11 Marines and their families.

~Thank You Notes~

Greetings 2/11 Irvine Marine Adoption Committee,

We are parents of one of the fortunate Marines of 2/11. Fortunate in that there is a city with the heart to support our Marines in such a positive and meaningful way. Our son is the Commanding Officer of Kilo Battery (see attached) and has been a Marine for 10 years. This is the first duty station to our knowledge where the community has shown such a generous heart. Being a Viet Nam veteran I have great respect for those who sacrifice to obtain and preserve freedom for the people of this world.

We are so very grateful for you and your willingness to provide for them as you have. Having a kind word for our Marines is more than most will do, but you have gone beyond by your actions and provisions.

Thank you again and may God bless you and your families for all you do.
